The Darnton Index is a project that has been running now for many years. The basic idea is to collect together information about all Darntons worldwide and at any point in time. Much information has now been collected, but there is a lot more work to be done. All the work is voluntary. Contributions of information and documents have been received from people in several countries, as well as many people in the UK. Work is needed to place the 19th century people into family groups, linked where possible, to earlier generations. Please contribute any information you have. The availability of the UK 1911 census means that it is now possible to create more family groups.
